History:

My client reported she would get major headaches 1 to 2 times per week. She thought they were from stress or poor neck posture. Chiropractic treatments helped some, but she thought adding some monthly massages would help her.

Melissa's Technique:

This is one story I love. The area that she was feeling the pain in and the contrast of the area that we needed to work on to get her headaches to stay away was totally unexpected. The tight scalene muscles on the front of her neck were triggering her headaches. The technique we used is called scalene skin roller.

Education:

Forward head posture is a major problem for a lot of people, so I taught my client the double chin stretches to keep those scalene muscles stretched out between sessions.

The Results:

The scalene skin roller was the key to having a lot less headaches. When she did have a headache, it was less painful. She made the connection that it happened when she didn't keep up with her stretching.

Invitation:

If you are having issues with headaches and would like to experience the scalene skin roller, make an appointment below for an in-home massage today.

Disclaimer:

What works for one person is not guaranteed to work for everyone.

This is why Melissa's Mobile Massage customizes her client's sessions. The name of the massage techniques above is typically not a proper term for a technique, therefore other massage therapists would not know what a scalene skin roller is.
